I’ve taken up squirrel hunting and need to know exactly what I need to do to be successful.?
I wear camo shirts and usually walk while I’m hunting. So far I’ve shot about 3 squirrels and killed 2. I see squirrels all the time but when it comes to hunting, I rarely see them. I need some tips/tricks on how to get squirrels. Time is not an issue. I have sat in a tree for 3 hours. Any advice is welcomed.
dangerous squirrels?
A man, Bob, and his friend Joe went out hunting. This was Joe’s first time ever hunting, so he was following Bob’s lead.
Bob saw a small herd of deer and told Joe to stay in the exact spot he was and to be quiet!
After a few minutes, Bob heard a loud scream. He ran back and asked Joe what had happened.
Joe said “There was this snake and he slittered across my feet, but I never screamed.
Then there was this bear that came up to me and snarled, but I never screamed.”
“So then what did make you scream,” Bob asked, exasperated. “Well,” Joe continued, “two squirells crawled up my pants and I overheard them say, “Should we take them home or eat ’em now?”"
What can I do about invading Grackles?
I have an infestation of what I think are Grackles. They come in huge flocks of 40-50 birds and they wreak havoc on my bird feeding stations. In a couple days time they devoured both seed feeders and a couple of suet cakes. Essentially they are scaring away other species of more desireable birds. It has been a long time since I seen my Nuthatches and Chickadees. First I stopped the invading squirrels with a baffle but now these Grackles are taking over. I may try using some safflower seeds, a bit more expensive but I am curious about the results of using it.

Smell of urine or feces still coming from attic after sanitized?
We moved into a home a short while ago (rental) and i kept smelling a wierd smell coming from my closet. the master bedroom is the attic and the crawl space to the raw attic is thru the closet. I realized the smell was coming thru the crawl space door. turned out there were squirrels living in there and they created a HUGE room of poop and urine and just disgusting. we had pest control come and he cleaned it out, removed the animals and there babies, and fog it and sanitize it. its been a few weeks later and the smell is still coming. (before the sanitization, the smell would travel all the way down the stairs, it was awful) now the smell is literally if u just walk into the closet. we had 2 electrical guys in there yesterday fixing the chewed wires and they said the smell in there was awful. the animal guy said this must have been going on such a long time that it saturated into the wood and will take a long time to go away. anyone familiar with this and know when the smell will be gone!? i think i may be getting headaches from it or maybe its just in my head. i hope its ok to be sleeping in my bedroom.
Why do squirrels tails twitch?
We get squirrels at our bird feeders. I watch them and their tails twitch all the time. I figure it’s either for balance or communication but they even seem to do it when they are trying to “hide” which kinda gives away the fact that they are there. Why do their tails twitch?
Why not re-introduce wolves to Central Park, New York City?
I am a long time Alaskan hunter and trapper. Every year Friends of Animals or some other group floods our TV broadcasts with anti-hunting and anti-trapping ads. And as trapping season approaches – I always wonder what would happen if a dozen wolves were live trapped and released in Central Park. I know wolves – they would not hurt people – just become hell on the squirrel, pigeon and small dog population. This would be a re-introduction since wolves used to live all over New York state until the white man arrived. Do you think the people of New York would rally around the wolves and support them living in the Park – and enjoy watching and listening to them call? Or – would there be millions of residents fearing for their lives and screaming for someone to kill them all immediately?
Last year I had wolves drag off a neighbors dog about 4 miles from my home. And Friends of Animals spent $6 million on tv ads denouncing wolf control. If wolves are good enough to live in my neighborhood – are they not also good enough for New York City neighborhoods?
Would you donate money to an organization dedicated to the re-introduce wolves to Central Park?
