Does anyone know where I can get a live squirrel for a pet?

I had the World Best Dog she was my everything. A Black Lab/Pit Bull named Lady. She had 16 happy, loves and spoiled years of making me smile. I taught her words. Like “Where’s the squirrel?”
She’d high tail it and run the fence growling lookin’ for that squirrel!
And she always entertain me when I said “Lady, get the fly!” She’d pop up here ears and listen, cocking her head back and forth and by golly every time she’d find that fly…she’d hunt that nasty varment down..racing in every room listening for it until she caught.
Awesome dog…I needed that smile!

We recently bought a home in western Washington. Apparently, the previous owners kept pet squirrels. Squirrels that come into the house through any opening they can find, stand at our feet and chirp for food. *I’m not crazy, stay with me* I love animals, but I don’t want to harbor winter nesters in my home, or deal with the constant mess they leave. I have come home from work to find various leavings all over my house, including eaten drywall, sheets, wiring from who-knows-what but I’ll no doubt find out while I’m driving or when my house bursts into flames, a nest with three babies, etc. They are taking over my life! I have put up several feeders, scattered food in the yard, but they ignore it or bring it into the house. I cannot keep my house totally shut, because of the damp air, and they chew through screens. They haven’t learned to scavenge for food, and I don’t want to harm them, but my house is turning into a zoo! Any suggestions?
Animal control and the Humane Society have been no help, they tell me the squirrels are protected and they can’t wait around all day to trap them, but my family is tempted to sell our home because of this!
Truth, I wonder if the same can be said with obnoxious, cruel people who become a nuisance.
He is wonderful and still pretty active, and still attempts to catch rabbits and squirrels in the yard (by smell?). He has well over two acres of chain link fenced yard that is landscaped pet friendly and has many trees bushes and quiet places to lay and enjoy his old age. I hope he lives to 80. But I am not a spring chicken either and it is difficult to hunt him to tell him his supper is ready (and to check to see if he is OK) I check on him at least 4 or more times a day. He can not stay in the house due to family member with extreme allergies.
I tried the dog wistle but he can not hear it any better than my own whistle. He hears my shouting voice at a distance of maybe 10 – 15 ft but if asleep he does not wake up.
Does anyone have an inventive or original way to get him to show himself so I know he is alright? The vet said his hearing will never improve. He also has cateracts and I can not afford to have them removed.
Has anyone ever had a pet squirrel? I would like to have one. How do you do that?
