I am a long time Alaskan hunter and trapper. Every year Friends of Animals or some other group floods our TV broadcasts with anti-hunting and anti-trapping ads. And as trapping season approaches – I always wonder what would happen if a dozen wolves were live trapped and released in Central Park. I know wolves – they would not hurt people – just become hell on the squirrel, pigeon and small dog population. This would be a re-introduction since wolves used to live all over New York state until the white man arrived. Do you think the people of New York would rally around the wolves and support them living in the Park – and enjoy watching and listening to them call? Or – would there be millions of residents fearing for their lives and screaming for someone to kill them all immediately?
Last year I had wolves drag off a neighbors dog about 4 miles from my home. And Friends of Animals spent $6 million on tv ads denouncing wolf control. If wolves are good enough to live in my neighborhood – are they not also good enough for New York City neighborhoods?
Would you donate money to an organization dedicated to the re-introduce wolves to Central Park?
