help with feeding wild birds?

OK I buy the expensive $20 bird food that no birds came. Now I buy the cheap $6 bird food and I have 20 BIRDS at the bird feeder, 3 squirrels on the floor eating what ever drops! I have to fill it up 2 times a day. Its hard to keep up with them. I also have a bird bath so usually 3 birds a chillen in their. I have a trampoline and we saw two birds chillen their (it was hilarious!!) I am the only one in my area who feeds them. I also give them bread and bird suet for the birds. I was thinking of buying Chipmunk food as well.
If you want the bird food I use its called:
Wagner
I use Wagner Deluxe Blend so it attracts all birds. It was the cheapest at Home Depot so I decided to try it!

Should I get an outdoor cat?

I would not say that my family lives on a farm. But we live in a fairly rural neighborhood and we grow fruits and vegetables in our yards. But we have a big problem with squirrels getting our food! We have two dogs that are used to having cats around. When they’re in the yard, the squirrels stay out, but the only thing is they tend to trample the gardens too. Lol. Our yard is shaded by large oak trees, so hawks/eagles don’t really see the squirrels or anything. And because we were having a big problem with rabid foxes, the fox population had to be diminished as well. While I feel safer for the dogs and the children that live here, it again does nothing to remedy the vermin population. We live several miles away from any major roads. The only people that come down our street live in one of the 8 houses on the street. All 8 of us drive slowly because everyone has pets, kids, or both. One of them has a friendly outdoor cat and he seems to be fairing just fine. Should we get an outside cat to control the problem? We actually have a ‘kitty fort’ built outside, but no cats. All of my pets are microchipped etc…
Just to clarify, he/she would be an indoor/outdoor cat. And we do have a problem with all vermin–particularly mice and squirrels

How to tame a stray cat!! 10 Points!?

I live out in the middle of the country and we get a lot of wild animals that come and go. Normally we get 2-5 raccoons every night and a few other animals like squirrels and what not. But lately we have had this adorable black cat come around; she usually comes onto our deck and eats out of our feeders (where we put all our scrap food for the wild animals to eat). Anyways, this cat has been showing up a few times everyday eating out of our feeder and just hanging out around our yard (3 acres). Unfortunately every time me or any of my family members goes anywhere near the cat, it runs away in a frantic. I really wanted to tame this cat and take him into our care, because he’s so cute, and I don’t want him to die or get hurt out in the wild.

I have this old doghouse kind of shelter on the side of my house, which is a perfect spot for a stray animal to sleep and stay warm and safe at night. So when I went to put a bunch of blankets and pillows and food and milk in the little house, and to my amazement I found a litter of baby kittens! Right before I peaked into the house, the momma cat took of running trying to make us notice her and not her kittens, so when I put the blankets and food in there, I found her kittens.

Anyways, I brought out a broom and cleaned up a little bit in the house (got the leaves and acorns out) and put the blankets down and the food and left it at that, hoping that the momma cat would appreciate what we did and come around more and let us help her.

We came back the next day, and the momma cat unfortunately moved her kittens to a new spot (don’t know where). We really wanted to take in the mom and the kittens and help them, because the kittens are barely 5 weeks old at that. And they really need food and help.

Anyways, the mom cat still comes around and eats out of our feeder, but still when we try to go near her she takes of running towards the woods (where I think she hid her kittens).

What can I do to get her to come around MORE and for her to like us and want to be around us, so we can take care of her and her kittens? Is there anything I can do to help her understand that we are here to help her and her babies, and not hurt them?

Wild Bird feeder question?

I put out 2 wild bird feeders, same food in both. The birds are flocking to the one feeder in the front yard, but are ignoring the one in the back yard. They are both placed close to trees and are the kind that hang on a pole. Any ideas why? I have another feeder in the backyard and the birds eat from it, as do the squirrels.

Bird Lovers, WHY NOT FEED THE SQUIRREL’s TOO?

Those Cute Little Squirrels need FOOD TOO! WHY rig up your bird feeds for just birds, why can’t Squirrels Feed from those feeders too? GOD SAYS TO FEED ALL OF HIS CREATURES… this means, FEED THE SQUIRRELS Too!!!!

question for hunters?

im not an anti-hunter. hunting for food and pest control is understandable, but i have a few questions for you hunters. take a look at this video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGA3THtLJAM

supposedly, that is private land, but they are still shooting from the road with a loaded vehicle in the car, is this illegal or legal? i got nothing against it, but im just curious. also, prairie dogs are pests right? is it normal for people to laugh when shooting them? im just curious thanks guys. i noticed a lot of hunting videos on youtube with young kids hunting rabbits, raccoons, squirrels, woodpeckers, birds, etc. are these animals edible, can you eat them?
