Flea infestation, HELP?

I have two large dogs (both labs) and I live in the deep south. Napoleon (my larger lab) has flea dermatitis and it is killing me watching him suffer. The fleas are out of control right now. I have done everything imaginable. We have been doing this weekly baths, daily vacuuming, weekly washing of the dogs linens and our linens, monthly front line application, monthly carpet shampooing and monthly treatment of the yard. I also comb them out about once a day (outside). I keep finding them though. Our mattresses are sealed in plastic and we regularly shampoo our couches. We do have a problem with feral cats in our neighborhood though, I’m pretty sure they have fleas because they are always scratching. They always come in our yard trying to catch squirrels and birds. We have called animal control about them several times but they have done nothing. Is anyone else having a flea problem, I am at my wits end. I do have a 1 year old son and want to keep him safe from chemicals (hence all the cleaning, vacuuming and washing). I have heard about the new flew pill Comfortis, has anyone tried it?

Gentle Leader Vs Prong Collar for Control?

Does anyone have any advice, which is the better for controlling a very strong 90# Lab who chases squirrels while being walked? She pulled me down all the way this week, and I tore a muscle in my shoulder where she yanked it. I am walking her now with my good arm, and the prongs work, but it has to be hurting her; would the gentle leader across the chest type (not across the nose) control her as well?

If an exterminator traps a raccoon that he finds in your house, what will he do with it?

Like if you have a raccoon or a squirrel trapped in your chimney, and you get an exterminator to come get it out, would he just release it into the wild, or would he put it down, or would he give it to Animal Control, or what?????? Thanks.
OKay, so they kill it. But specifically what exactly do they DO once they have it in the cage? They just load it back into their pickup truck and go on their way? And where do they kill it? At an Animal Control center or something? And do they kill them one at a time or wait until they have a bunch before killing htem?

what could be wrong with my car?

Our car worked perfectly . Then a squirrel chewed through the wires that hooked into our control module and the car stopped running. I had to replace the control module and both coil packs in my car. I checked the spark plug wires and they’re fine. We replaced all the spark plugs with new ones. So we replaced what made our car stop running, however, we aren’t getting spark to two of the 4 spark plugs. We are going to replace the battery just in case. But we arent entirely sure what could be wrong with our car. Its a 97 chevy cavalier 2.2L manual 2 door coupe. I was told by my dad to check the distributor cap if the car has one but it doesn’t. My brother in law came over and checked out the fuel pump and its working so thats not an issue. Please, someone help me. I am not car savvy and i cannot afford to bring my car into a shop. Everything thats been done is with the help of my dad. please help.

How much does it cost to remove raccoon/squirrel from attic?

Hi, How much would a wildlife control contractor charge to set up traps in an attic, remove animal (either raccoon or squirrel, not sure), clean up, and find and seal points of entry?
Thanks!!

What is the goofiest thing you just HAD to do before a trip? What’s your story?

About 4 years ago,(had Petey for less than a year) we were heading for a business/fun trip to Europe. Very excited about it; a lot to do to get ready. The evening before the trip, Petey killed his first possum. It was a momma and we felt really badly about the whole thing especially as she had babies in her pouch. We called animal control and my husband talked to the guy who showed up. Animal control doesn’t handle dead animals and my husband didn’t explain about the babies.

Early the next day, I was on the phone trying different rescue groups to see who would take baby possums. I finally found one about 20 miles away (luckily it was the opposite direction of commute traffic). I put the babies in a shoe box with a towel and drove with them meeping all the way til I got to the vet’s office. (Not alot of places do possum rehab.. go figure… turtles, raptors, squirrels even, but possums? No respect)

Drove home, finished the chores, got Petey to the kennel and flew off.

Flying squirrel control

Flying squirrels are cute animals that can cause a lot of noise in the home. They have big eyes and loose skin around their legs that enable them to “glide” through the air.
