routine annoyances.. neighbors violating their leases and a manager who has no time to respond.?

i’m quite exhausted being a fuss bucket but i have simple complexities.. one is a neighbor who keeps on insisting to throw food out on the front yard at our apartment complex. this is a violation of the lease, city ordinance and animal control always posts notifications about it. you can’t do it but this neighbor keeps on doing it and feels entitled (a common issue where i live, this silly entitlement) and responds in a rather immature and arrogant manner. she’s in her 60s and should know better. we have issues with birds (especially invasive types) coyote, wolf, cougar, raccoon, squirrels of course love the food among other creatures and insects which obtain entry into our buildings and become a pest problem along with being a danger to themselves and to the dwellers.

yes, i’ve consulted the manager endlessly and the tenant in question, no avail. what can i do next other than just be a royal pain and pick up the stuff endlessly?

sure i can call the city but been there, done that… seems the city is operated by slack jaws these days who are only worried about firing people and taking their salaries, building up the city and worrying about why they’ve put themselves and the tax payers into bankruptcy.

i’m exhausted by the arrogance and ignorance and worried about the children and elderly, we’ve had issues with animals quite a few times that this is not just some “busy body” with nothing to keep themselves occupied.

matter of fact i have so much to do but as of today i see yet another neighbor who feels they can just take my time with something they well know and understand that they can’t do.

i can even tape part of the lease on their door highlighting this legality… but you know how much of a waste of time that is and how silly it can become.

i’m also sick of the vermin on my balcony coming around ripping up everything because they’ve just ran out of food and are scurrying for more.
also there’s been so many times where i’ve and others warned neighbors NOT TO FEED the animals and almost every time that neighbor’s had to call animal control because they’ve gotten into trouble with the animal(s) in question.. latest case was a woman feeding a overly friendly raccoon.. only to find out the coon was sick and attacked her later… she called animal control and got into trouble because she was notified beforehand because of neighbors reports.

How do I get rid of unwanted squirrels?

I live in the city, so trapping and bb’s are not an option due to heavy sidewalk traffic. They are in my wall and are way to high to reach from outside. They have chewed through the wall and my cats are in a standoff with them. I can not afford to call in a pest controll expert. How can I drive them away without causing any discomfort to me or my pets.

squirrel hunting in chicago?

me and some friends are going to do some early squirrel hunting here in the city of chicago and i was wondering if them squirrelies are good to eat or sumthing cause im not going to just kill a squirrel and leave it there i want to eat in and make a coat out of his fur so what do u think?

Feeding Squirrels – what should i do?

i understand the cons of feeding squirrels but i feel the pros outweigh it. my neighbor seems to think i am the cause of her rodent problems and yelled at me yesterday and threaten to call the city on me. i checked and it’s not illegal to feed them. I don’t leave table food out, it’s all high quality feed and it’s in a feeder at the back end of my yard. my neighbor has set up mouse trap to kill any chipmunk/squirrels/etc. that get on her property. i don’t agree with what she is doing but i can’t tell her what to do so i don’t feel she has a right to tell me what to do either! i am not the only one feeding in the neighborhood and my feeding is not the cause of her problems. i really don’t want to start a war but i don’t see why i need to change my lifestyle to accommodate her. i want to continue to enjoy my home/yard but it’s hard now cuz of her. what should i do? give in? continue to live my life the way I want to live it? Serious comments please! thanks!
if she agree to stop killing then i will stop feedubg but she will continue to kill so what’s the point? am i putting innocent lives in the line of fire? i could be but with or without me, the squirrels will find their way to her property. note, i don’t put out 3 meals a day for them, it’s only occassionally whenever i have time to get out there so i don’t see how they will be “dependent” on my food and “can’t survive” on their own.
i called the city – it is not illegal to feed at all – there are just guidelines to follow (no food on the ground and feeder has to be 4ft above ground). there is no point talking sense into her, i tried and she yelled and screamed for 15mins and shut the door on me. she has been complaining to other neighbors about it too and i feel i am being unjustly “ganged up” on. The point is, i am sorry she is having problems with rodents but i am not the cause of her problems so i shouldn’t be blamed for it. i already have to taped up all the windows facing her home so i don’t witness her “murdering” the critters…what else can i do? last i checked, i am the one paying for the house, not her!

is hunting squirrels with a pellet gun legal.?

is hunting squirrels with a pellet gun legal. in or out of city limits.

Does anyone else have a squirrel problem?!?

I live in a city neighborhood with several mature trees. Also, since it is an older neighborhood, the power lines are above ground and strung from the pole to the house. Apparently, this is makes my yard/house a haven for squirrels!! I have tons of them and they seem to be constantly ravenous. They chew through my plastic garbage bin to get to the trash bags and even dig holes several inches deep under the side wall of my garage to get to the trash bins inside the garage!! They dig up flowers and shrubs and forget about birdfeeders!!! They jump from trees onto freestanding feeders!! They are like little monkeys!! I really hate to surrender my yard – I love planting flowers and shrubs and would love to attract birds to my yard as well.

Any suggestions on how to get rid of them? Trapping seems silly because there will be others to take their place.

Thanks!!

Help me keep my city kitty happy?

Weve recently moved from a much greener area to the city of philadelphia and now my poor cat has no trees near the windows which means no birds or squirrels to entertain her. I have the 2nd floor of an apartment building with plenty of windows and am in need of help from anyone who can tell me about installing bird feeders, and or window boxes or anything to bring some wildlife near our windows for my poor, depressed, kitty (Ruby).
Thank you in advance
