so the birds eat at the feeder, good they eat the bugs in my garden. but so do the squirrels who eat my bulbs. so has anybody out there hooked a 110 line up to thier bird feeder?
my hubby and i are both electricians but he doesnt think it will do enough. i think it will kill ‘em. what do you think?
killing them would be just fine, and electricution is very quick and effective and placing the bird feeder on a pole wont solve my bulb issue.
and i am in the suburbs so shotgun is out of the question thanks guys… i have been quietly shooting them with paintballs to give them the hint for the day… it’s a shame it only works for a little while… btw paintballs are great for keeping the hawks away from baby birds too!

Over the past couple years, I’ve got my parents squirrel proof bird feeders.
One birdfeeder, the one built for the small birds to fly into the steel grate, the squirrels are able to reach into the bird feeder and use their claws to flick out bird seed. It’s not easy for the squirrel, because they have to hang on while using just one claw to pick at the seeds.
The milk jug theory doesn’t seem to work; they just plow past them.
I will also be accepting pictures of your ideas. Send photos to holykrapbatman@inbox.com and include your Yahoo Answers ID, so I can match it up to your post in here.
Best answer with or without photos will get 10 points as the answers will be tried out either this week or next week. I may extend the period of time for further experimentation.
Please help the little birds keep their birdseed, and let’s shut down the free trade of seed to the these militant squirrels.
Thanks in advance for your help and expertise.

I don’t want to be paid tribute to this way! Maybe I should write some commandments in the moist scoopable litter in their pan. Do you think they would adhere? Or am I wasteing my time trying to make them change their ways. It seems too jewish.
I see a grey squirrel in my garden and eating seeds under the bird feeders.
I see the squirrel one a few days.
How far squirrel travel for food??
Dose he/she live near by??

I recently bought a .177 caliber remington airrifle and it works ok at shooting squirrels and birds but it takes atleast 2 shots to kill a chipmunk and atleast 3 to kill a squirrel. I know i’m not shooting it on the wrong places because I shot a squirrel i in the chest a few times and it was still alive. Then I shot a bird and it acted dead but when I went up to it, it just walked away. Couldn’t fly though. I was doing research and someone said “I switched to a .22 caliber pellet gun because it is better to hunt with.” Should I switch to a .22 caliber pellet gun? Will it really make a difference?
