Is there any truth to the belief that if a mother bird or other animal smells human on its baby, it will kill it? The reason I ask is because none of these animals, i.e., birds, squirrels, rabbits, chipmunks seem to have a problem with my hands touching the food I put out for them in my feeders.
Did this idea come from the fact that someone may have put a baby bird back into a nest it had been kicked out of to begin with?

May, 2008 our newly adopted (leased!) Greyhound, Ivy unexpectedly walked right up to a healthy squirrel standing stock still & quick as lightning, killed it with one shake. She dropped it & walked on, my husband behind her, his jaw agape. I went to retrieve the squirrel to reverently bury it. I ducked in the house for a shovel. Meanwhile..our daughter picked it up..with so much love.
we caught a baby squrriel in our tree a have been feeding it but cant tell if its a boy or a girl

Well I was outside playing with my dogs when they saw a squirrel and decided to mess with it and the squirrel ran up the tree and scared the baby bird out of the nest and it fell out.
So far what its done is walk around the yard so. I’m guessing its ok because it doesn’t look old enough to fly.
My dogs did try to hurt it but i was able to control them and get them in the house so there ok too.
So should i call some one? I live in Aurora, colorado.
Just leave it alone?
Wait for it to die then throw it away?
What can happen if it dose die will it leave diseases where it did?
Should i take it some where?
This happened about 2 hours ago now and the bird is just hanging out then it will walk and then again just hang out.
Dogs are inside.

Well I woke up this morning to let the dogs out, but first I went to see where the bird was to keep them away and found it dead. Kinda sad but thats life, it looked like it died from the cold.

we got a squirrel that chewed her way in to our attic, im concerned cause i have a newborn baby and the landlord f the house doesn want an exterminator cause he thinks he can handle it himself but it has been several days and no luck… what should i do? should i be concerned about diseases or fleas?

to native:a squirrel is a rodent therefore something has to be done, or do you have them living in your house?
