.22 cal air gun rifles- RWS 34 vs. RWS 48 – (all other gun suggestions welcomed) small game hunting?

i am torn between the 34 and the 48, i am going to get the .22 version and will be using it with a scope for small game hunting, (squirrels and rabbits) the 48 obviously has more knockdown power, but ive heard less accuracy? it is also way more $$$.
is there another rifle i should consider in the 100 to 250 $ range?

besides crosman quest and any other nub gun.

i do not like Co2 either because of cost, so only single action or ones with a rotary mag.

thanks, 10 points for the most knowledgable answer,

i dont want you to make my opinion, i want the info so i can form my own.

cheers, thanks mates

What’s the difference in me shooting squirrels out of the tree tops around the house or shooting in the air..?

..to celebrate the 4th of July (Independence Day)? I use the same low base, 12 gauge with #8 shot. I usually have a more angled trajectory when shooting squirrels, which according to the armchair munnitions experts on here, is more dangerous than shooting straight up. Funny we all hunt in the woods together and even my 85 y/o father can never remember being hurt by falling shot. They feel like rain drops to me.
My father has never been dove hunting in his life. I am not talking about bird hunting in open feilds. I am talking about squirrel hunting in the tops of 75-100 ft tall hardwood trees.
We live in a wooded community of about 100 residents. The houses in our area are about 1/8 mile apart. I kill deer right in our back yard with an SKS.

What is making dime-sized holes in my potted plants?

I have a 2nd floor balcony on which I have an assortment of herbs and annuals. Over the last few days, I’ve noticed dime-sized holes appearing in the soil. At first, I thought it might be air pushing through the soil, but then I realized that I’ve never seen them before, and then the number of them had increased. After looking around online, there were complaints of squirrels from others, but I have yet to notice any around my street. And these are small little planters …. would the squirrels be attracted to them?

I have also been dealing with what I think is a spider mite issue. I’ve been using a spray bottle to try to control the dirt levels – it seems to have helped.

I Just realized – I did notice a few small “bite marks” on the basil. Could that be a clue, or even yet another issue?

Thanks in advance for any help.

legality of airgun hunting in new york?

im just wondering about the basics of the legality of hunting with an air rifle (break barrel, .177, 1000 fps) in suburban new york. what can i hunt, what cant i hunt, what do i need a license to hunt, where can i hunt, is my gun legal, etc. i’ve been shooting some squirrels in my back yard that have been tearing up my family’s garden and bird feeders, and i take the occasional starling. if anyone has any knowledge to share, it would be much appreciated. any websites with detailed overviews of these kinds of laws would also be great. thanks in advance.
