the red squirrel is my personal favorite.
but yesterday morning was a sad day!while on my way to work, i spotted a hooded crow on the round pecking at something.i first thought it´s a rabbit or so, because i couldn´t see the color.but then i saw it was a hit and killed young squirrel who was born in 2009.the crow did already pull his eye out, before i was able to pick the dead squirrel up, to lay him on the ground of a wood, where he wouldn´t get crossed by passing cars.

In places like Britain where red squirrels do not naturally occur beside the Eastern Grey squirrels the red squirrels are being displaced.

Some months ago I saw a report about a programme to save red(!) English squirrels at least on the Isle of Wight against the murderous grey US-squirrels!

Grey squirrels are ugly and they look more like rats to me, they shouldn’t be in Britain and may either psychically attack or the fact they carry a disease that kills our Red ones.
So screw the grey ones, the red ones are beautiful.
