Is it cruel to have a bird feeder that squirrels cant get into? i feel bad for them?
i just got a bird feeder. haven’t had one in years. i got one of those ones that squirrels cant get into but now i feel kinda bad cause they just watch the birds and look kinda pathetic. is it mean? someone tell me that squirrels can get food elsewhere and im not starving them or harming them….
Aahhh….How the heck do I keep other birds out of my Hummingbird feeders?!!?
Ok I need to calm down! But this is getting down right ridiculous. No matter what I’ve tried I can’t keep the bigger birds away from the Hummingbird feeders!! Within an hour they have them emptied. T O T A L L Y EMPTY!!
I have a bird bath and feeder out for them. But they still seem to think they have to steal the sugar water from the Hummers. I’ve tried relocating the feeders. I’ve even tried hanging something up to scare them off. Yeah right, it just scares the Hummers off instead.
Accepting my defeat, I’ve even given them their own Hummingbird feeder right out there with their seed and even wrote (4 Big Birds) on it. Which doesn’t work anyway because the Squirrels love to dump it.
How the heck do I keep them away from it?! I’ve battled Ants and won, I’ve even battled a Raccoon and a Dear and won. But I admit, these darn birds have me beat. And my Hummers are getting really ticked off at me since their feeders are always either empty or being over run with bully intruders.
I’m using the regular Hummer feeders like in the pics. They land on it, it spills out then they drink it.
Yes I use Hummingbird Nectar and sometimes mix my own. These birds have a sweet tooth.

How do you keep squirrels off of your bird feeders?
How do you keep squirrels off of your bird feeders?
Is it possible to use cayenne pepper on birdseeds to keep squirrels away from feeders?
My grandma has a bird feeder that is constantly raided by squirrels, and a friend of hers said to sprinkle cayenne pepper on the bird seeds to keep the squirrels away. I have never heard of this and neither has my grandma, hopefully we can find out something about this.
